You know as well as I do that won't happen.

It's so funny. I've been threatened in writing, have had people who don't like me refreshing individual posts 30+ times a night, and have had others claim that they know who is harassing me but they refuse to tell me who they are. On top of this, I keep getting page views from therawrmonster, another former friend's website.

And yet other people want to pull this high moral ground bullshit claiming I am crazy and they are creeped out? Really?

Seriously? Where is the fucking logic here?

Vicki,

You are right about one thing:

I was referred to your site and blog post about me by a mutual facebook friend. I will not disclose this person's name. I read it, was more amused than offended, and continued on with my day.

You are wrong, however, in thinking that it was either I or my two roommates (both of whom were subletting for the summer and neither of whom live with me anymore) who were the culprits in the bombardment of offensive comments that you received on your page. It was, in fact, a fourth party. Someone you know, but who you probably would not suspect.
You see, while on facebook late at night, I was reminded of the blog you wrote about me and shared it with this person, thinking they might get a kick out of it, and they took it upon themselves to comment on your page. I did not ask them to do so, nor did I encourage it. All of that business about 'three people' was simply something made up to mess with your head, I suppose. Or to create a case of 'who done it'. The comments were made by one person, who was not in the room with me or any of my former roommates at the time. After I shared the blog with this person, they told me that they were going to "formulate a response". I asked them not to, said it wasn't worth it, but they insisted. They then proceeded to link me to the comments via facebook chat (my curiosity got the better of me and I read them) which is probably why my name was highlighted. I asked them to stop, because the comments were harsh and immature, but they proceeded. That was the extent of my involvement.
And though I feel rather odd about having to defend my late-night use of electricity, and find it mildly creepy that you were outside my house at 2 in the morning, I will tell you that it was because my friend and new roommate came back to the city and we were up late catching up and helping him get settled, not because I felt the need to torture you via blog comment. I am not that petty nor that malicious. I am also not invested in your life enough to care about (or even take notice of) your employment, weight or dental health. What the actual culprit chooses to do with their time, however, is up to them.
I have always chosen, and will always choose, to remain on the periphery of the drama attached to a certain "friend" cirlce, which I consider to be exhausting, absurd and, almost always, incredibly pedestrian. I have better things to do with my time, and anonymous cyber cruelty really isn't my style. If I had felt the need to comment, I would have done so outright. In fact, I wouldn't be responding at all if it weren't for the fact that I don't want my position or my employer associated with the comments left on your page.
While I'm here, however, I will respond to the initial blog post which prompted all of this nonsense:
In your comment on my facebook link (http://www.phillymag.com/articles/trends_go_south_young_homo/page2), which I posted happily, glad to see that the Avenue had gotten such a positive write up, you said, "Cantina is such overrated crap. It kills me that the place gets so much press when there are way better Mexican joints further north on Passyunk." I felt as if you had A.totally missed the point of the article. and B. as if you were being unnecessarily negative and antagonistic.

So I responded with:
"Since I work for the business district, I can't really give an opinion about who I think makes the best Mexican food on the avenue. But the point of the article is more about current trends and the changing demographics in South Philadelphia, less about where you can get the most delicious chimichangas. And whether you like it or not, Cantina has sort of become the face of the new east passyunk."
Perhaps I was too hasty in my response. So I retract the statement I made about Cantina being the 'face of the new east passyunk.' What I meant, and should have taken more time to explain, was that the Cantina is probably the most well-known business on the Avenue to people outside of the E. Passyunk region. They are, whether you think they deserve to be or not, an incredibly successful business. And you can't really mention the changing demographics on East Passyunk, and how we're drawing a younger "gayer" crowd without talking about the Cantina. That is all. There is no favoritism on the part of the BID towards Los Caballitos. I have no personal investment in the restaurant. Their success and overall impact on the business corridor is simply an objective observation.
Also, the picture you took of their trash was at 3am on trash day. Not a whole lot of foot traffic happening on E. Passyunk during that time. All of the businesses on the Avenue pay a percentage of their property taxes to the BID. The percentage is the same for all businesses. With this money we are responsible for arranging trash pick up, street cleaning, events, etc. So there is no need for the Cantina to invest in private trash pickup. It is also not our responsibility to fine any restaurant for trash removal violations. I don't don't even have a remote idea of what a violation would entail. That is on the city. If a resident complains to us about a problem with a business, we try our best to diffuse the situation by speaking with the business owner and attempting to draw up a compromise, but beyond that, we have no control.
You hinting at a possible sign of corruption in my hastily written facebook response, is ridiculous and inflammatory. And your suggestion that I am "unprofessional and lack decorum" actually made me laugh out loud. At 22 and a college senior, I have a better professional resume than many people several years older than me. During my time in school I have worked for 4 political campaigns and I've had my job at the BID since February. I haven't worked a retail or food service job since the summer I spent at Starbucks 2 years ago. All of my former bosses like me and are happy to write me recommendations at any time. It must be because I'm unprofessional and lack decorum.
Finally, I find it funny, that the very day I see you at the bank, I get a blog written about me in reference to comments made on a social networking site 2 months ago. I mean, was it really that big a deal? Do I inspire that much anger in you? I don't think I said anything that was personally offensive. Yet you feel the need to attack me personally on your blog? Do you harbor such resentment towards me that you have to take it out on the Cantina?
You say that you want to avoid drama, yet you post this blog, knowing that we share mutual acquaintances and expect it not to get back to me? Please.
Even so, I'm sure we can settle this like adults. I hope this comment helped to clarify a few things. You are more than welcome to e-mail me if you feel as if we have more to discuss.

Sincerely,
Olivia C. Webster

You want out of the drama, cough up the name of the person who authored the comments or be complicit. If you prefer the latter, then i couldn't give fuck all what you did and didn't do, i hold you in the same regard.

I didn't want any part of it either but all of you have finally managed to piss me off.
