About this website:
I purchased drunkenatheist.com sometime in 2003. I wanted image hosting and also because geocities & tripod pages had become old meme. Initially, it was only going to be used as a personal site that I would update with various photos, stories, and links.
In the fall of 2003, I got laid off from my crappy job at an A/V subcontractor. I had a ton of time on my hands and had remained in contact with a few friends from the company. I began the blog portion sometime in early 2004ish, as a way to keep in contact with those old acquaintances and friends who didn’t need to be all up in my grill. Sometime in 2008, I decided to switch from blogspot to WordPress, but was never able to import the old posts properly.
Finally, in August 2009 I was able to import posts from my old blogspot and livejournal accounts to this one; you’re reading a combination of posts originally posted on Livejournal, blogger, and drunkenatheist.com. The blogspot and drunkenatheist.com posts are generally all intact, while the Livejournal ones have been selectively posted with – in most cases – all comments intact. I reserve the right to edit any post for clarity, brevity, or to preserve anonyminity any real life friends, acquaintances, family members, enemies, etc. At that time, I also created the first custom graphics for the site: the “Drunkenatheist.com: Because sometimes masturbation gets old” banner, written in purple on white in CatholicSchoolGirls BB font; and the scenes from South Philadelphia collage, featuring photos from the Oregon stop on the Broad Street Line, Clarion Street at Clarion & Porter Streets, a strip of businesses on 2nd street off South, and Broad Street at the Northeast corner of Broad & Ritner Streets.
Intriguing, isn’t it?
My original posts obviously didn’t have the more polished feel that my newer ones have. That’s one good thing about college; it forces you to develop better writing and critical thinking skills. (Well, then again, seeing how some of my fellow students argue and articulate their points, I’m not so sure about that.) Like most websites, this is a perpetual work in progress, and if all things panned out, would make me some money. (Doubtful, I know.)
Enjoy and feel free to contact me with any questions!
xoxo,
Drunkenatheist
