A national tabloid magazine has published a story discussing allegations made by a Portland woman against former Vice President Al Gore. The Portland Police Bureau does not generally disclose information regarding sex crimes, as they are deemed confidential. However, because of the high-profile nature of this case and the fact that the woman involved provided reports to a media outlet, we will provide the following information:

In December 2006, a local attorney contacted the Portland Police Bureau and said he had a client that wanted to report an unwanted sexual contact by Mr. Gore. This allegation stemmed from an incident on October 24, 2006, when the woman involved, a Licensed Massage Therapist, was called to a local hotel to provide a massage to Mr. Gore.

Well now, this makes me feel validated about arguing with racists over Lou Barletta. Yes, please, let’s see other states’ economies fucking collapse. That seems like a good move.

As American as it is to rape and pillage other cultures, their land, and their people for all they’re worth, I (not so) secretly hope that all of AZ’s undocumented immigrants tell lawmakers to shove this guest worker nonsense. I’m giddy to see how this plays out!

Since I’m currently blogging in comfort, I probably ought to mention that there have been a few minor changes in George’s case.  It looks like the original charges have been dropped, which is awesome.  Unfortunately, new ones have been placed against him (simple assault) and it appears that US Marshal Enrique Trevino and Court Security Officer Claire Barns have contradicted their old stories in order to file the new charges.

[Insert cliched sarcastic comments about the thick wall of blue shit, how it's shocking that any LEO would ever lie and fudge on paperwork to cover their asses, respect mah authoritah, etc.]

Anyway, this is as good a time as any to remind you, dear readers, about George’s legal defense fund.  I know that money is tight for everyone, but I can’t stress how important it is to contribute anything you can.  The support he has received thus far is wonderful and inspiring, but he’s still roughly $10,000 away from his goal.   Please consider chipping in and helping him in this time of crisis.

In a similar vein of suckitude, Julian Heicklen was also arrested for civil disobedience in NYC.  From what I gather, it looks like Julian was passing out FIJA lit, the cops started hassling him, and at some point during this altercation, they discovered he had an outstanding warrant against him for failure to appear in court.  The NY penal system is treating him in a manner that is completely appropriate for the crime: they’ve holed him up in Rikers.

I have a small update, as well as a small links dump about George’s case, but it just ain’t happening right this second. It’s currently in the high 80s/low 90s here in the Philly suburbs and my central air won’t be fixed until next week at the soonest. This is after our damn realtor put us off for about a month and I was ready to open up an escrow account. Yeah, yeah, it’s supposedly getting fixed, so I should be happy, and some people would kill with a/c, so I’m being a spoiled bitch.

But you know what? It’s fucking HOT. I might update about George’s arrest this evening when it’s cooler and I can do cool things like think without sweating.

So guiz, could we stop slobbering all over him?  Please?  Pretty please?
